Ontarians Deserve Continued Access to Rapid Tests
TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO,

WHEREAS the World Health Organization has determined that Covid-19 pandemic is not over, and is "well-established and ongoing";

WHEREAS the role of the Ontario government is to help maximize the health, safety and well-being of all Ontarians;

WHEREAS Ontarians deserve ongoing access to tools that help determine infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19;

WHEREAS Rapid antigen tests can be used to determine whether an individual has been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19;

WHEREAS the Ontario government began restricting Ontarians’ access to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing in December 2021, leaving them to rely on rapid antigen tests to determine infection status;

WHEREAS the federal government has not committed to procuring rapid antigen tests for Canadians after Fall 2024;

Therefore, We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:

That the Ontario Government procure rapid antigen tests and distribute them to public health units across Ontario
for free, equitable, and on-going access for all Ontarians
